“Learning to be okay without having all the answers”.
How do you deal with uncertainty?
Uncertainty has a strange way of making us uncomfortable.
We want answers.
What will happen? When will it happen? Will everything be okay?
And when we don’t have them, our mind starts writing stories, usually the worst ones.
But life rarely gives us a full script.
I’ve slowly learned that dealing with uncertainty isn’t about pretending not to worry. It’s about accepting that not everything needs to be figured out right now.
Some days, all you can do is take the next sensible step.
Make the phone call.
Finish the work.
Have the conversation.
Go for a walk.
Sleep on the decision.
And then let tomorrow arrive when it’s ready.
Because sometimes, the answer doesn’t come from thinking harder. It comes from giving things time to unfold.
We spend so much energy trying to control the outcome that we forget something important: we can’t control everything, but we can control how we meet it.
So when life feels uncertain, I try to ask myself just one question:
“What is the next thing I can do?”
Not the next ten things.
Not the whole plan.
Just the next one.
Maybe uncertainty isn’t always a problem to be solved.
Sometimes, it’s simply a space we have to learn to live in and trust ourselves while we do.
“You don’t have to know the whole road. Sometimes, knowing your next step is enough.”
