If I Could Send One Message to My Past Self

If you had a time machine and could send just one message to your past self, what would it say?

“Maybe the message we wish we could send our past self is the one we most need to hear today.”

If I had a time machine and could send just one message to my younger self, I wouldn’t warn her about the mistakes she was going to make.

I’d simply say:

“Stop worrying so much. You are going to be okay.”

I’d tell her that not every unanswered question needs an immediate answer. Some doors will close and later, she’ll understand why. Some people will leave, and life will still move forward. Some plans will fail, only to make room for something better.

I’d tell her to enjoy ordinary days more.

The morning tea.
The family laughter.
The people she thought would always be there.

Because one day, she’ll realize those were not ordinary moments at all.

They were the moments.

And perhaps that is the message I need to send myself today, too.

“You don’t have to know how the story ends. Just live this chapter well.”
