Whatβs the most underrated movie youβve ever watched?
Have you ever watched a movie so good that you wanted to grab people by the shoulders and say, βForget whatever you’re watching. Sit down and watch THIS.”
And yet, somehow, the whole world seems busy discussing movies where buildings explode, superheroes fly, and villains explain their evil plans for 45 minutes!
Meanwhile, some beautiful little films are sitting quietly in a corner, waiting for someone to notice them.
One such gem, in my opinion, is The Intern.
At first, I thought it was just another light-hearted comedy. A 70-year-old man joins a fashion company as an intern. I wondered what could possibly go wrong. At that age, I imagined his biggest professional challenge would be remembering his computer password.
But Ben, the charming senior intern, turned out to be much more than a source of gentle humour.
He brought patience, kindness, wisdom, and an old-fashioned sense of respect into a workplace where everyone seemed permanently stressed, glued to their phones, and one email away from a nervous breakdown.
Honestly, Ben was the kind of colleague everyone needs. The man didn’t need a motivational podcast, three cups of coffee, or a five-step productivity routine to get through the day. He simply listened, stayed calm, and treated people well.
Meanwhile, the rest of us can lose our minds because the Wi-Fi stops working for thirty seconds.
What I loved most was the film’s gentle reminder that you never become too old to learn something new or too old to make a difference.
Sometimes, experience is more valuable than the latest technology, and kindness can accomplish what a hundred motivational speeches cannot.
And that’s why I think The Intern deserves more love. It doesn’t need car chases, flying superheroes, or enough explosions to wake up the entire neighbourhood. It has something much rarer: heart, humour, and characters who feel wonderfully human.
Perhaps the best movies aren’t always the ones everyone is talking about. Sometimes, they’re the ones quietly waiting for us while we’re busy scrolling through twenty-seven streaming options and still can’t decide what to watch.
And The Intern left me with a lovely thought: the best stories don’t just entertain us; they remind us how to live a little better.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to find another underrated movie. Hopefully, one that doesn’t require me to understand a complicated multiverse before the first cup of coffee.βπ

Thanks for introducing me to The Intern. Your post has made me curious to see how a 70-year-old intern manages to make his mark in a workplace full of younger people. I might just have to watch it and see for myself!
