If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Breaking news: You’ve wasted years worrying about people who probably forgot your name five minutes later. 😂 Stop overthinking, start living, and remember, you’re not a pizza. Not everyone has to like you.
Yes, YOU, my younger self, the one who replayed a two-second awkward conversation for three business days. The one who changed outfits five times because someone might have an opinion. The one who lay awake at 2 a.m. thinking, “Why did I say that?” as if the FBI had opened an investigation.
Girl, please, The FBI has bigger problems. Nobody is building a documentary around your embarrassing moments.
If I could travel back in time, I’d grab my younger self by the shoulders and say, “Darling, I have some shocking news. You are not the main character in everyone else’s life.”
All those years, I treated other people’s opinions like examination results. One raised eyebrow, and my confidence needed supplementary exams.
I wish I’d known earlier that people will judge you whether you do something or nothing.
Wear bright colours? Too loud. Wear black? Too serious. Stay quiet? Attitude problem. Talk too much? Please give the poor woman a microphone and a mute button.
So, dear younger me, please relax. Laugh loudly. Make mistakes. Dance badly. Say what you mean.
And if someone doesn’t like you?
Let them.
Darling, you’re a human being, not a pizza! You weren’t born to be everyone’s favourite topping. 🍕😂
My advice to my younger self? Stop living for other people’s approval. They’re not even paying your electricity bill.😂

You have inspired me to eat a pizza for dunch. I am receptive to others but I can still think for myself. I believe that is a good way to be.

Ha, glad I could inspire a pizza dunch 🍕 And I agree, being open to others while still thinking for yourself is a great balance. Enjoy every bite.😄

People actually pay my electricity bill, so I fall in line with not seeking approval too much. However, if you know yourself and you ask around what people would like to see (as in art) then I am more flexible in that regard. Its more important for me that I like my creative process and Im also of value to others. Hard coin to hit.

That’s such a healthy perspective! Finding that balance between enjoying your own creative journey and bringing value/joy to others is definitely a tough target to hit, but it’s so rewarding when you do.
