If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Breaking news: Youβve wasted years worrying about people who probably forgot your name five minutes later. π Stop overthinking, start living, and remember, youβre not a pizza. Not everyone has to like you.
Yes, YOU, my younger self, the one who replayed a two-second awkward conversation for three business days. The one who changed outfits five times because someone might have an opinion. The one who lay awake at 2 a.m. thinking, βWhy did I say that?β as if the FBI had opened an investigation.
Girl, please, The FBI has bigger problems. Nobody is building a documentary around your embarrassing moments.
If I could travel back in time, Iβd grab my younger self by the shoulders and say, βDarling, I have some shocking news. You are not the main character in everyone elseβs life.β
All those years, I treated other peopleβs opinions like examination results. One raised eyebrow, and my confidence needed supplementary exams.
I wish Iβd known earlier that people will judge you whether you do something or nothing.
Wear bright colours? Too loud. Wear black? Too serious. Stay quiet? Attitude problem. Talk too much? Please give the poor woman a microphone and a mute button.
So, dear younger me, please relax. Laugh loudly. Make mistakes. Dance badly. Say what you mean.
And if someone doesnβt like you?
Let them.
Darling, youβre a human being, not a pizza! You werenβt born to be everyoneβs favourite topping. ππ
My advice to my younger self? Stop living for other peopleβs approval. Theyβre not even paying your electricity bill.π

You have inspired me to eat a pizza for dunch. I am receptive to others but I can still think for myself. I believe that is a good way to be.

Ha, glad I could inspire a pizza dunch π And I agree, being open to others while still thinking for yourself is a great balance. Enjoy every bite.π

People actually pay my electricity bill, so I fall in line with not seeking approval too much. However, if you know yourself and you ask around what people would like to see (as in art) then I am more flexible in that regard. Its more important for me that I like my creative process and Im also of value to others. Hard coin to hit.

Thatβs such a healthy perspective! Finding that balance between enjoying your own creative journey and bringing value/joy to others is definitely a tough target to hit, but itβs so rewarding when you do.

Thank you so much, that’s a very kind welcome. Pizza on safari? Now that’s my kind of adventure! π Just hoping the lions don’t think it’s a delivery and chase me for extra cheese. π Count me in, Pangolin Adventure, and please save me a seat next to the elephants (they seem like good listeners)! πLooking forward to the adventure with Pangolin Adventure.

The moment you stop seeking universal approval, you reclaim the freedom to live authentically. Self-respect begins where the fear of othersβ opinions ends. Be yourself; the right people will value your truth, and the rest need not define your worth.

This hit home! π I stopped caring about what people think and my life got 10x better. Now I wear mismatched socks, sing in the shower, and my neighbors have thoughts. They can keep them. π Be yourself, the right people will stay. Thanks for the reminder.

Iβve caught myself replaying old conversations and wondering why I said something the way I did, long after the other person had probably moved on. Itβs funny how we keep putting ourselves through a trial when nobody else is even thinking about the case.

Yes Dear, truly said that “trial” metaphor is painfully accurate. We’re the defendant, prosecutor, and jury, while the other person has long since left the courtroom and probably forgot there was a case at all. π
