Whatβs a personal mantra or philosophy you live by?
I have never had a grand philosophy written on a wall.
Mine is much simpler:
βDo what you can, with what you have, and let tomorrow take care of itself.β
I didnβt learn this from a book. Life taught me.
There have been days when plans fell apart, people changed, doors closed, and I wondered, βWhat now?β
And slowly, I learned something important ,sometimes the answer is not to have a perfect plan.
Sometimes, you just make the next cup of tea.
Answer the next phone call.
Finish the next little task.
Take the next step.
Thatβs it.
Iβve also stopped believing that life has to be figured out by a certain age. Some dreams arrive late. Some change shape. And some quietly wait until we finally have the courage to notice them.
So I try to live by three little reminders:
Donβt rush what needs time.
Donβt carry what needs letting go.
And never stop being curious about what life might surprise you with.
After all, life isnβt a race to the finish line.
Itβs the little moments along the way, the unexpected conversation, a new idea, a beautiful corner of a city, rain against the window, laughter around the table that make the journey worth remembering.
My philosophy?Β Keep going. Stay curious. And leave a little room for magic.
Because sometimes, the best chapters of our lives begin on ordinary days.
βI donβt need to have life figured out; I just need to stay curious enough to keep discovering it.β β€οΈ

Wonderfully said, keep going and enjoy all the magic and twists. To be in progress, letting go of what’s no longer works. Thanks for sharing

Nice article; I learned from Eliot Hulse that you do 50 procent max your best, and 50% the universe. What happens when society blocks you in doing 30% your best? ~ mental and physical absentism

Thanks, glad it resonated! π Love that 50/50 idea. When barriers cap you at 30%, I think absenteeism is often the mind and body’s way of saying “this setup isn’t working.” The fix isn’t just trying harder; it’s changing the setup too. Your best deserves room to breathe! β€οΈπ

Tx, Epke Sonderland also said this in his article 13 yrs ago.. without playing room to experiment with his body (perhaps seen as self harm) he could not have achieved the top, if I remember correctly

Thanks for pointing me to that! πβ€οΈ Epke Zonderland’s story is a great example: he needed room to experiment, push limits, and fail safely to reach the top. What looks risky from the outside is often how people learn what their body can do. Space to try is part of the training. π

“This is such a deeply comforting and relatable read. In a world that constantly pressures everyone to have a fixed roadmap by a certain age, your words feel like a warm hug. The truth is, we spend so much energy trying to figure life out, forgetting that beauty often lies in the uncertainty.βYour reminder that sometimes we don’t need a grand plan just the courage to take the next small step, brew a fresh cup of tea, and finish a little task is the most grounding life advice ever. Life isn’t a race to the finish line; itβs found in the ordinary moments, the unexpected conversations, and the quiet magic along the way.that itβs completely okay not to have all the answers. We just need to stay curious enough to keep discovering what life has in store for us next.β€οΈ
