What are your best healthy eating habits?
I’ll be honest with you upfront: I don’t like sweets. Never have. People hand me cake at parties and I nod politely and set it down somewhere it can quietly disappear into the void, never to be spoken of again.
For breakfast, I usually eat something I call Sensible Mush – oats or porridge with splash of milk,ย poha, whatever fruit didn’t get eaten yesterday. Nothing exciting happens here. No sugar, no syrup, no drama. Just mush, doing its job, minding its business.
Lunch is where things get a little more alive. I call it The Un-Fried Situation , usually rice or roti with a vegetable ,dal sometimes non veg.
ย Frying and I have a strictly professional relationship: we acknowledge each other exists, and that’s about it.I avoid it.
Snacks throughout the day are what I’d call Crunchy Nothings , nuts, roasted chana, the occasional banana chips that think it’s doing something.
Light. Boring. Reliable. Exactly how I like my snacks and, frankly, most of my life decisions.
And then evening rolls around and I do something that confuses everyone who knows me: I skip dinner entirely and have soup instead. Just soup. Warm, simple, no fanfare. I call it The Great Nightly Shutdown, my body’s way of saying “we’re done negotiating with food for today, goodnight.”
No sweets. No fried stuff. No heavy dinner plates that make you want to lie face-down on the couch afterward. Just quiet, boring, sensible eating that somehow keeps me feeling pretty great.
No magic ingredient, no secret trick. Just small, boring choices repeated every day and somehow, that’s enough.

I have to admit, the no-sweets part impressed me. ๐ I would have failed that test before breakfast. And sensible mush is a brilliant name for porridge! ๐

Haha, honestly the no-sweets thing surprises even me some days โ I think it’s less discipline and more just… never developing the craving in the first place. Lucky accident, really ๐
And “Sensible Mush” is officially trademarked now that you’ve endorsed it. Glad it made you smile and thanks for reading!๐น

Most people do not stick to one diet there whole lifetime. Biochemical individuality also implies that the journey for your optimal diet plan can differ (sry this is a book in my booklet barely touched upon). Thanks for your article!

Thanks so much for reading and for this thoughtful comment! You’re absolutely right , what works stays personal, and it really does shift over time as our bodies, routines, and even seasons of life change. What I shared is just what’s been working for me lately, not a rulebook for everyone.
I would genuinely love to hear more about the biochemical individuality angle from your booklet sometime , that sounds like a fascinating rabbit hole. Thanks again for stopping by! ๐ฒ

Thank you! Honestly if I didn’t name everything something ridiculous I don’t think I’d stick to it half as well …”eat oats” feels like a chore, “eat Sensible Mush” feels like an inside joke with myself ๐
Appreciate your reading , glad it made you smile!
