What are some life hacks that you practice?
Some lessons are learned.
The best ones are lived
I used to think life hacks were clever tricks you found on the internet.
Fold your clothes this way.
Clean your microwave with lemon.
Put a spoon over a boiling pot.
Useful, yes.
But somewhere along the way, I discovered that my favourite life hacks have nothing to do with household tricks.
They are the little things life teaches you, usually after you have made the same mistake few times.
Here are a few I quietly practice now.
Never reply when you are angry.
I write the message.
I read it.
I sometimes rewrite it.
And then I put my phone down.
Quite often, by morning, I don’t want to send it at all.
That’s one argument I didn’t have to win.
When something feels overwhelming, do just the next thing.
Not the whole kitchen.
Just the dishes in the sink.
Not the entire week’s work.
Just the first email.
Not βfix my life.β
Just make the bed and drink some water.
Some days, progress is simply making the next five minutes easier.
Keep a little emergency happiness nearby.
Mine might be a favourite cup of coffee, an old photograph, a song that instantly changes my mood, or a message from someone who makes me smile.
Because bad days don’t always need big solutions.
Sometimes they need a small reminder that life isn’t only at this moment.
And perhaps my favourite hack of all. stop explaining yourself to people determined to misunderstand you.
There was a time when I would spend hours trying to make someone understand my intentions.
Now?Β I will explain once.
If they still choose a different story, I let them have it.
Peace is sometimes more valuable than being understood.
And here’s the strange thing about these little hacks:
None of them make life perfect.
They simply make life lighter.
Maybe that’s what growing older really is, not learning how to control everything, but learning which things don’t deserve your energy.
Life rarely comes with an instruction manual.
So we collect our own little rules along the way.
Some come from wisdom.
Some come from mistakes.
And some come from sending one very regrettable message at 11:47 p.m. π
βLife doesn’t come with an instruction manual. We collect our own little rules along the way.β

I think most of us have learned at least one life hack the hard way. π The 11:47 p.m. message at the end says it all. π

Absolutely! Nothing teaches us a lesson quite like a late-night realization right before deadline! What was the lesson learned in this one? πΒ
