Silence isn’t always peace. Sometimes it’s every word you wanted to say, sitting quietly behind your teeth because you were scared of the answer.
Don’t mistake someone’s quiet for “they’re fine.” The loudest pain often comes wrapped in silence ,the unanswered text, the conversation that just… stopped, the person who used to tell you everything and now tells you nothing.
And don’t mistake your own silence for strength either. Holding it in doesn’t make you unbreakable. It just means the people who love you don’t know you’re breaking.
“Somewhere along the way, you learned that staying quiet keeps the peace. So you swallowed your needs, your opinions, your “actually, that hurt me” and called it easygoing.“
Say the thing. Ask the question. Send the text. Silence feels safer, but it rarely stays peaceful π it just delays the hurt.
You’re allowed to take up space with your voice. Peace that costs you your truth was never really peace.
