Healing through words 😄

If someone offered me any fictional animal as a lifelong companion, I know what everyone would expect me to say.

A dragon.

Something enormous, magnificent, and capable of setting the world on fire.

But honestly? No, thank you.

I have enough trouble keeping my houseplants alive. I don’t need a creature who occasionally breathes fire.

I think I would choose a Pikachu.

Not because it can throw lightning bolts ,although having one around during a power cut could be rather convenient. 😄

I imagine us growing old together.

Pikachu sitting beside me while I have my morning tea. Following me around the house. Getting ridiculously excited when I return after being out for a few hours, as if I had been gone for years.

And on difficult days, perhaps it wouldn’t ask, “What’s wrong?”

It would simply sit beside me.

Sometimes that’s all we need from a companion.

No advice.
No questions.
No fixing.

Just someone or something ,who stays.

Of course, there would be arguments.

I can already imagine finding my favourite cushion on the floor, the curtains mysteriously torn, and Pikachu looking at me with those completely innocent eyes.

I’d sigh. It would smile.

I’d forgive it.

Because perhaps the best fictional companion isn’t the one who makes your life extraordinary.

It’s the one who makes ordinary days feel a little more magical.

And if Pikachu ever got tired of walking beside me…

Well, I’d carry him.

Some friendships are worth the extra weight. 💛
