The Airport Where My Patience Took Flight โœˆ๏ธ

Whatโ€™s the best and worst airport youโ€™ve been to?

If airports could give report cards, some would get an A+, while others would be politely asked to repeat the year. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I remember one airport where everything seemed perfect.

The glass doors opened with a soft whoosh. Cool air brushed my face. The floors were shining, people were sipping coffee, and the departure screens were behaving themselves for once.

I found a seat near the window.

Outside, a giant aircraft slowly moved towards the runway. Its lights blinked against the morning sky, while tiny service vehicles hurried around it like busy ants.

I had my coffee, my boarding pass and absolutely no reason to panic.

For once, I thought, โ€œAhโ€ฆ travelling is actually enjoyable!โ€

That thought lasted about seven minutes.

Then I remembered the worst airport I had ever visited.

The moment I entered, it felt as if the entire airport had been designed by someone who had never actually travelled. ๐Ÿ˜„

One sign said Gate 12 โ†’.

I followed it.

Another sign appeared: Gate 12 โ†.

I followed that one.

Then I found myself standing exactly where I had started.

At this point, I wasn’t looking for my gate anymore.

I was looking for my dignity.

The queue for security seemed endless. The person in front of me had apparently packed their entire household into their hand luggage. Behind me, someone kept checking their watch every thirty seconds as if the flight might feel guilty and wait for us.

And then came the final announcement:

โ€œPassengers for Flight ___, please proceed immediately to Gate 27.โ€

Gate 27.

Of course.

It was at the other end of the airport.

So there I was, dragging my suitcase, walking faster than I have ever walked in my life, while pretending I wasn’t running.

When I finally reached the gate, breathless and slightly dishevelled, the boarding agent smiled and said,

โ€œGood Morning madam.โ€

Good morning?

I have just completed an Olympic event. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yet, strangely, these are the airport memories I remember most.

Because airports are funny places. We complain about queues, delays, uncomfortable chairs and expensive coffee.

But look around, and you’ll also see something beautiful.

A mother giving her son one last hug.

A couple holding hands quietly.

A child waving excitedly at an airplane.

Someone smiling through tears because the person they’ve been waiting for has finally arrived.

Perhaps that’s what makes airports special.

Everyone is going somewhere, but for a few moments, we’re all carrying a little piece of someone we love. โค๏ธ

And maybe that’s why, even after the worst airport experience, we still come back.

Suitcase packed.

Boarding pass ready.

Patienceโ€ฆ hopefully included. โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜„

  1. (…so there I was, dragging my suitcase, walking faster than I have ever walked in my life, while pretending I wasnโ€™t running) There’s something about airports that makes people want to look dignified ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This was beautifully written, and the image you have there….. ah! …and there’s something about a girl/woman with glasses in her hair and her hair tied in a bun behind her. I am an observer ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
