One Conversation Could Have Saved the Whole Story❤️

What’s the most annoying trope in books or movies?

We all have one.

That one annoying little thing in books or movies that makes us sigh, roll our eyes, and think, “Oh, please… not again!”

For me, it’s the completely unnecessary misunderstanding.

You know the scene.

Two people who clearly care about each other are standing three feet apart. One hears half a sentence, misunderstands everything, gets offended, and walks away.

The other person could solve the entire problem with one simple sentence.

But no.

Instead, we get three chapters or forty-five minutes of silence, tears, dramatic music, and avoiding each other in crowded rooms.

And I’m sitting there thinking:

JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!” 😂

Sometimes I want to jump into the story, grab both characters by the shoulders and say, “Please communicate. You’re an adult!”

Of course, without misunderstandings, many stories would end rather quickly. So perhaps we have to forgive the writers.

But still…

Give me flawed characters, unexpected twists, awkward moments, even a little chaos.

Just please don’t make me suffer through a problem that could have been solved by a thirty-second conversation.

Because the most frustrating plot twist isn’t always the villain.

Sometimes…

It’s poor communication. 😄.

  1. Sometimes, after I finish watching a film or reading a book, I just lie down and start drafting. Same thing with the perfect image I have in my head of how I want everything to be.
