If I Got a Tattoo Today, It Would Say “Still”

If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?

If I had to get a tattoo right now, I wouldn’t choose a name, a date, or an elaborate design.

I’d choose one small word:

Still.

Not strong. Not fearless. Not forever.

Just still.

Because life has a funny way of changing everything while quietly asking us to remain ourselves.

Still here.
Still learning.
Still loving.
Still hopeful.
Still becoming.

There have been days when I thought I had lost parts of myself. Days when plans changed, people changed, and I changed along with them.

And yet, somehow, there was always a little part of me whispering, keep going…

That is what “Still” would remind me of.

Not that I survived everything perfectly.

But that after all the things I thought would break me, I was still here.

Maybe that’s the best kind of tattoo the one that doesn’t decorate your skin as much as it reminds your heart of something it tends to forget.

And if someday I look at that tiny word and smile, I’ll know exactly why I chose it.

Still.

Because the story isn’t over yet.

“The best tattoos don’t decorate your skin. They remind your heart of something it keeps forgetting.”
