The 10 Places I’d Love to Lose Track of Time

What are your top 10 travel destinations?

Travel isn’t just about collecting passport stamps. Sometimes it’s about collecting versions of yourself that you didn’t know existed.

If someone handed me ten plane tickets today and said, “Go wherever your heart pulls you,” this would be my list.

1. Kyoto, Japan

Not for the famous temples alone, but for the quiet mornings when the streets are still asleep. I imagine drinking tea while autumn leaves drift across centuries-old gardens, reminding me that beauty doesn’t need to shout.

2. Iceland

A place where waterfalls roar louder than city traffic and the night sky dances with the Northern Lights. It feels like the kind of destination that teaches you how wonderfully small you are.

3. Santorini, Greece

Yes, everyone photographs the white houses and blue domes. But I’d rather watch an old fisherman untangle his nets while the sun melts into the sea. Sometimes the ordinary moments become the unforgettable ones.

4. New Zealand

If Middle-earth existed, this would be it. Snow-capped mountains, crystal lakes, and winding roads that make you stop every few minutes just to stare. It’s a reminder that nature is the greatest artist.

5. Petra, Jordan

Walking through a narrow canyon and suddenly seeing an ancient city carved into rose-colored cliffs must feel like stepping into another lifetime. History becomes real when you can touch the stone.

6. Banff, Canada

Turquoise lakes that look almost unreal, pine forests that smell like fresh rain, and mountains that make every worry seem a little smaller. I’d happily trade my phone screen for this view.

7. Venice, Italy

A city where roads are made of water. I’d skip the rush and wander through hidden alleys, listening to footsteps echo over old bridges, letting myself get gloriously lost.

8. The Scottish Highlands

Mist, castles, lonely roads, and stories whispered by the wind. It feels like the perfect place to carry a notebook and come home with more questions than answers.

9. The Maldives

Not because it’s luxurious, but because sometimes the soul needs silence. Just endless blue water, gentle waves, and permission to do absolutely nothing.

10. Cappadocia, TΓΌrkiye

Hundreds of hot-air balloons rising together at sunrise. It’s the kind of sight that reminds us that dreams don’t always stay on the ground.

The Journey that Matters most

The funny thing about travel is that we rarely return as the same person who left.

We come back carrying new stories, unfamiliar flavors, unexpected friendships, and a deeper appreciation for home.

Maybe that’s why people travel ,not to escape life, but to meet it in different places.

If you could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning, where would it be? Sometimes the answer says more about our hearts than any map ever could.

“The best journeys don’t just change your location ,they quietly change who you are.”
